Extraordinary 1955 Sanderson abstract fabric ...

To mark 150 years of Sanderson, and to reflect our own love affair with iconic textiles and design - we're offering a very tactile link to a time of excitement, innovation and revolutionary thinking...

This amazing Sanderson fabric not only carries the makers name - it even has the date stamped on it - precisely 29th September 1955 - the day that rock and roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis celebrated his 20th birthday and yet to make his first hit record...

Whether it makes you think of Pistachio ice cream, spearmint, or lime sorbet - that green background is just so...delicious! and the free-form abstract design, the patterns, the glorious amorphic shapes - it's all just so - Sanderson, so British...and utterly, utterly to die for!

This particular find consists of no less than two and a half metres of authentic 1950s fabric in unused condition and would make a stunning collection of matching soft furnishings for any retro interior or perhaps one amazing door curtain (and tie-back) or a superb pair of funky teenager's bedroom curtains!

Authentic abstract Sanderson fabrics in this condition and, just as importantly, at this length - are very rare and becoming so hard to find; this particular gem will create a focal point in any room!
