Sanderson Rose Stripe Housecoat Dress (tx1062)

This is a beautiful vintage housecoat which can also be worn as a delightful tea dress. It dates to the 1950s and is made from a superbly pretty Sanderson cotton fabric adorned with sprays of colourful roses and dove grey stripes over a white background. It is expertly made and incorporates several stylish design features including the gently gathered shoulders and cuffs of the sleeves, which fasten with fabric covered buttons, a sweeping and elegant collar which tapers down to the two front, fabric covered buttons which fasten the bodice area. There is a hidden hook and eye at the waist where the pleated and gathered skirt hangs perfectly. The design of the fabric enhances the feminine and graceful styling of this housecoat-dress and the addition of a belt plus a pretty corsage will instantly transform you into the belle of the vintage tea party!

A gorgeous, one-off piece of vintage fashion. The sizes are as follows: Length: 57" from nape of neck to hem. Inside sleeve: 12.5" to cuff edge. Outside sleeve: 19.5" to cuff edge. Waist 28.5" (hook and eye could be moved an inch or two to increase waist size.) Chest when dress is laid flat and measured across from armpit to armpit: 19.5". Pleated/gathered finish allows for plenty of hip room! In excellent condition. No wear or fading.
